Leonard Louis Ballelli

Leonard Louis Ballelli, 76, of South Abington Township and Old Forge, PA passed away on Monday at Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. He was the husband of Mary C. Parry Ballelli, who he loved deeply for over 26 years.

Born April 25, 1950, he was the son the late Julie Massani and Lindsy Ballelli. He was a 1967 graduate of Old Forge High School and a graduate of Penn State Scranton. He served in MCB-74 Navy Seabees and Vietnam. He was a decorated Veteran, earning a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam services medal and star, and Vietnam Campaign medal.

He was a kind loving person to everyone.

He was a member of Laurel Garden Club of Scranton and our social dinner club, Waldorf German Club, Scranton. Leonard was also active with the Seabees and belonged to First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit, PA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by cousins.

The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice and all the nurses, especially Judy Alui and Shannon, on 3 South at Gino Merli for the compassionate care shown to Leonard.

A funeral will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11 am at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Bill Carter. Entombment will follow at Glenwood Mausoleum. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home that day from 10 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gino J. Merli Veterans Center.
