Lenwood M. Van Orsdale, Jr.

Lenwood M. Van Orsdale Jr. died Wednesday afternoon at the VNA Hospice unit in Geisinger Community Center, Scranton. He was the husband of Sonja Petro Ruane Van Orsdale. The couple has been married for thirty one years.

Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Lenwood and Arlene Moyer Van Orsdale Sr. he was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary and received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University in 1957. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a senior systems analyst for Thompson Consumer Electronics in Dunmore. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church in Clarks Summit.

Lenwood was a very kind and loving man who enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, his wife Sonja, to many destinations, including Rome and all over the United States. He was also an avid Notre Dame Fan.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sam DelBerato, Dr. Martin Hyzinski and staff, as well as the staff at VNA Hospice Unit at CMC for all their wonderful Care and Compassion.

Also surviving are two stepsons Thomas Ruane and his wife Patricia, Bloomsburg; and Stephen Ruane and his wife Susan, Scott Twp.; a step daughter Debbie Mikucki and her husband Walter, Scott Twp.; and two granddaughters Danielle Ruane, Bloomsburg and Samantha Ruane, Lititz .
He was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Weaver.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10am from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

There will be no public calling hours. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Red Cross, 545 Jefferson Ave. Scranton, 18510.
