Lawrence M. Shepulski Sr., 74, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday night at the University of Penn Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late John A. and Mildred Knitowski Shepulski. He was a 1958 graduate of Duryea High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force where he played defensive back and receiver for the Air Force Football team.
He was employed for many years as a superintendent for Gilardi Construction and prior to his retirement was also a superintendent for Franchelli Enterprises. He was a member of St Benedicts Church, Newton.
Larry was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing racquetball and exercising at Birchwood Racquet Club. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing but most of all he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving companion Agnes Levash, daughter Lynette Shepulski-Remas and her husband Jeffrey, Delray Beach FL.; two sons Lawrence Shepulski Jr., Newton Twp.; John Shepulski and his wife Cristen; Harding, six grandchildren John III, Stephanie , and Heather Kresge, and Ashley, Jake, and Ella Shepulski, Niece Jill and Nephew Jay
He was preceded in death by two brothers Rev. Bernard Shepulski and John "Jackie" Shepulski.
The funeral will be Saturday with Liturgy of the Word at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.
