The Rev. Laurie Anne Jayne, 43, of Clarks Summit, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 15, 2016, at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Laurie was born May 14, 1972, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of William Delaney and Susan Alden, both of Massachusetts.
In 1997, Laurie met the love of her life, her husband, Kevin D. Jayne. The couple married in March 1999. Together, Kevin and Laurie have two wonderful children: son, Joshua K.; and daughter, Delaney E., both at home.
Pastor Laurie (as she was respectfully known) completed her B.A. in pastoral ministries from Northpoint College (formerly Zion Bible College, class of '95).
She served in many ministerial capacities. She was a teacher, pastor, ordained minister and certified life coach. However, the greatest role she had was being a loving mother and wife.
In her latter years, she traveled across the United States, preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission of her life was clear, love God … love people.Laurie was a member of Peckville Assembly of God Church.
Also surviving are a brother, William Delaney; and five sisters, Susan Delaney, Nicole Delaney, Mary Delaney, Bethany Delaney and Tonya Masterson, all of Massachusetts; as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life service Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Peckville Assembly of God Church, 3364 Business Route 6, Blakely, PA 18447, with services by the Rev. Terry Drost, pastor. Interment will follow in Clarks Green Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, and Tuesday from 10:30 to service at the church.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Peckville Assembly of God Missions department.
