Kimberly Renae Fraley, of Glenburn, passed away Tuesday afternoon peacefully after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. Born December 5, 1964, she is survived by her parents, David and Frances Kochis Jones, of Clarks Summit, her loving and devoted daughter, Meghan Krystine Fraley, who was the light of her life, and her loving brother, David Jones of Clarks Summit.
Kim was a graduate of Abington Heights High School, class of 1983, and of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Until the end of her illness she was employed as Assistant Bank Manager of Peoples Security Bank in Glenburn. During her illness, Kim never faltered in her belief that she would beat cancer. She held to her strong work ethic and was at her desk whether or not she was feeling up to par. Only when she felt she was not carrying her share of the work load did she decide to take her disability leave. She was always worried about her co-workers. Her family and friends have been constantly amazed as to how brave and courageous she had been.
Also surviving is her maternal grandmother, Angeline Kochis, Clarks Summit; her aunt with whom she shared a special bond, Sally Robertson and her husband Ralph, Scranton; her aunt, Grace Farnham and her husband Joseph, Falls; her uncle, Richard Jones and his wife Mary Ellen, Dunmore; numerous cousins, including her goddaughter, Emilie Jane Robertson, Nicholson.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Preston and Marjorie Lanyon Jones of Chinchilla and her maternal grandfather, Frank J. Kochis of Clarks Summit.
Kim will be forever missed and our lives will never be the same. We hope she knew how many lives she touched and how much she was loved and cared about by people all across the United States.
Her family would like to thank Kim's co-workers for their unending love and support; Dr. Eugene Ahn and his team at the Cancer Treatment Center in Zion, IL for the care they gave to Kim during her illness; the 3rd floor nurses of Moses Taylor Hospital; and until her passing, the nursing staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
They would also like to thank their friends and family who prayed each and every day for Kim's recovery. There are no words to express our gratitude. Kim is free of all pain now and she rests in the arms of the loved ones that have gone before her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am, with Rev. Sarah Miller officiating, from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kim's memory would be welcome at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
