Kevin Slowey, 49, of Falls Twp. died Thursday evening at the Regional Hospital of Scranton after being stricken at home. His wife is the former Sandra Lane and the couple has been married for 18 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the youngest child of the late Paul and MaryLou Delmar Slowey. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was employed by Pride Mobility for over 18 years. He was a member of the Church of St Benedict in Newton Twp., was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening and working at his house. He served as Vice Chair of the Falls Twp Planning Board.

Kevin was a wonderful husband and father, and his main priority and passion was his son Michael, who attends Tunkhannock High School and resides at home with their longtime companion Duke.

Also surviving are four brothers, Paul Slowey, Cortland NY; Patrick Slowey, Dalton, Timothy Slowey, Scranton; and Edward Slowey, Clarks Summit; and a sister Maureen Capozzi, Scranton. His sister-in-law Elizabeth Malos, Sayre Pa; his in-laws Jim and Corinne Lane, Falls Twp; and dearest friends who are like adopted parents, Phillip and Patricia Zanghi, Falls Twp. ; several nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the Newton Ransom Vol Fire Company for their response and continued support at this time.

A Memorial Mass will be Saturday October 1st at 11 am at the Church of St Benedict, 1845 Newton Ransom Blvd. Clarks Summit. All those attending, please go directly to the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Friends may gather prior to the service at the church.
