Kenneth W. Winters, 89, of Ransom, died Sunday evening at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. He was the husband of Wilma L. Felker Winters. The couple has been married for 70 years.
Born in Ransom, he was the son of the late Harry B. and Nellie Fahs Winters. He attended Newton Ransom High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Superintendent at Wyoming Sand and Stone.
He was a member of Countryside Community Church, Newton, and the Ransom Lions Club. Ken was an avid hunter belonging to the Abington Sportsmen's Club and the Wyalusing Gun Club. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Also surviving are three sons Keith Winters and his wife Lee Ann, Chaska, MN, Kevin Winters and his wife Helene, Laurel, MD; Dale Winters and his wife Lori, Alpharetta, GA; a sister Laura Pasternak, Clarks Summit; three grandsons Brian Winters and his wife Melanie, Scott, and Matthew Winters; five granddaughters Shannon Pahr and her husband Doug, Kelcie, Carly, Madeline, and Kayla Winters, and; one great grandson Jackson Pahr, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers Frank, Ralph, Howard, Stanley, Robert, Harry and Lawrence Winters.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 10am from the Countryside Community United Methodist Church, 14011 Orchard Dr. Clarks Summit PA, with services by Rev. Mark Terwilliger, pastor. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State ST. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Countryside Community United Methodist Church, 14011 Orchard Dr., Clarks Summit, PA.
