Kenneth Harlan Jacoby, 74, of Newton Twp., died Sunday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the husband of Kay Leonard Jacoby. The couple would have celebrated their 54TH wedding anniversary this coming September.

Born in Newton on July 10 1939, he was the son of Johanna Marie Schick Jacoby, and the late Kenneth E. Jacoby. He was a 1957 graduate of Newton Ransom High School and was the owner and operator of Jacoby Excavating since 1961. He was a master mason in the Waverly Lodge #301 F&AM, a 32nd degree mason in the Scottish rite, and a member of the Irem Temple.

Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, salmon fishing, and traveling in his RV. He was also an avid Boston Celtics fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the critical care team at Regional Hospital, especially Lynn, for their wonderful care and compassion.

Also surviving are four daughters, Janis Williams and her husband Chet, Clarks Summit; Karen Ranocchia and her husband Mike, New Port Richey Fl.; Sharon Myers and her husband Allan, Falls; and Heather Ross and her husband Brian, Clarks Summit; a brother Robert Jacoby and his wife Karen, Newton; a sister Denise Taffera and her husband Bill, Falls; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Faith Alaynna Ross.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7pm, at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa.18411, with services by Rev. Paul Fields, pastor of the United Baptist Church of Taylor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Masonic Services will be held at 6:30pm.



Friends may call Wednesday from 5pm until time of service at the funeral home.
