Kathleen Walsh, South Abington Township, died Tuesday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. Her husband is John Walsh.
Born in Ballinakill, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Catherine Hogan Hanly. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church. Prior to retirement, she worked in the Treasurer's Office at the University of Scranton and as a teller for Citizens Savings Bank, Clarks Summit.
Surviving are two sons: Patrick Walsh, Scranton, and Brendan and partner Jeff, Maryland; a daughter, Deirdre Gilligan and her husband Jack, Virginia; three grandchildren: John, Tara, and Stella Gilligan; and one sister, Ann McKeigue and her husband Tom, Ireland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Paddy and Michael Hanly; and two sisters, Mary Kaylor and Gertrude Hanly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church by Kathleen's nephew, Reverend Jeffrey J. Walsh, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Carbondale. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
