Karen Ann McIntyre, 56, of Waverly, died Thursday morning at her home. She was the wife of Dr. John McIntyre. The couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this March.
Born in Manchester Conn., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Alice Stabinsky Heidcavage. She was a 1977 graduate of Manchester High School and went on to receive her nursing degree at Ona M. Wilcox Nursing School in 1981. She was employed for many years as a Registered Nurse and most recently she was the Director of Home Health Services for Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. Karen was of strong Catholic faith.
Karen enjoyed gardening, contributing to charitable organizations, and going to the beach. She also loved her dogs dearly but the main passion of her life was her family and children.
She is survived by a son Bryan McIntyre, Waverly; two daughters Krystyn Kitto and her husband Luke, Plainsboro NJ; and Kellie McIntyre, Princeton NJ; three sisters Doris Shea and her husband Daniel, Manchester, Conn.; Sandi Fransen and her husband Ron, Rhinelander, Wisconsin; and Jeanne Bania and her husband Steve, Hebron,CT; three grandchildren Jacob, Aiden, and Ryan Kitto; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
