Judith E. Neary

Judith E. Neary, 80, of Mill City, formerly of Scranton, passed away on Friday at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Collins Neary.

She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School, Scranton, and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse who specialized in restorative nursing, serving over thirty years at Holy Family Residence in Scranton. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lake Winola.

Judy enjoyed reading and playing computer games, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her granddaughters. She liked to do anything they liked to do and she made it a priority to attend their events to show her support of their interests.

Surviving are a daughter, Meghan Degilio and husband Robert, Mill City; granddaughters Madison and Taylor; brothers Joseph Neary and wife Nickie, North Potomac, Maryland, Robert Neary and wife Carole, Lake Winola, and Timothy Neary and wife Christine, Scranton; nieces and nephews; aunt and uncles; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by infant grandsons, Jason and Tyler Degilio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 1872 Dalton Road, Lake Winola, PA 18625 at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family requests that all in attendance at both the visitation and Mass wear masks. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Winola Fire Company or St. Mary of the Lake Church.
