Josephine C. Badalamente, 91, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday evening at the Abington Manor Nursing Facility. Her husband of 67 years, Joseph Badalamente Sr., died Dec. 6, 2007. The couple married April 21, 1940.
Born March 19, 1918, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Cillarato. Before moving to Clarks Summit with her husband in 1982, they lived in North Arlington, N.J. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud of them. She died with her family by her side.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Jr. and wife, Sandie, Factoryville; grandchildren, David Badalamente and his wife Amy and Kevin Badalamente and his wife Erin; great grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Madison, Molly and Vanessa Badalamente, all of Clarks Summit; a very special nephew, Joseph Verola Jr., Honesdale; a brother-in-law, Frank Badalamente, Holt, Mich.; other nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. She was especially close to her sister, Stella, who died in 2007; they were best friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Abington Manor for its loving care, friendship and understanding.
A blessing service will be held Friday at noon in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. John O'Bell. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
