Listen to Obituary
Joseph E. Wall, 80, of Falls, died Monday evening at home. His wife of 53 years is the former Idamae Swartz Wall.

Born in Falls, Exeter Twp., on Feb. 11, 1932, son of the late Dennis and Elizabeth "Bessie" Davis Wall, he attended the Exeter Twp. School and was an Army veteran of combat during the Korean War, stationed in Korea. As a young man, Joe had a sanitary disposal business, and before his retirement, he was employed by Schott Glass Technologies, Duryea, where he was the company chauffeur for many years. He was a former member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. He was currently a member of the West Falls Baptist Church. Joseph loved his church and his church family. He was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr., and after his death he was a fan of Kevin Harvick. At one time he had his own racing car, No. 16. He looked forward to early morning coffee hour at the Falls Deli and the Schultzville Deli, where he engaged in conversations with many of his friends.

He was a loving, caring and kind gentleman with a giant-size heart. He was a good, hardworking person who took great pride in his work. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and could always make us laugh and feel good; it was his strongest quality. He enjoyed his home and working in his yard, mowing grass and sitting on the swing watching the hummingbirds. His main interest in life was his church, spending time with his family and friends, and he especially loved the constant companionship of his dog, Bear. His family meant everything to him; he truly enjoyed all family gatherings, picnics and get-togethers. Family and friends will truly miss him; his willingness to help anyone in need and his joke-telling, which brought them a great deal of laughter and enjoyment. We will miss his presence daily, his beautiful blue eyes and smiling face. God took him to heaven, a far lovelier place. Joseph passed into Eternal Life surrounded by his family.

Also surviving are a daughter, Anita and husband, Rick St. Clair, Falls; a granddaughter, Victoria "Vicki" Lepka and husband, Robert; stepgrandchildren, Daniel St. Clair, Denise and husband, Donald Oakes, and Anna Green; stepgreat-grandchildren, Tamara Ann and Dylan James St. Clair, Kyle Austin and Cameron Chase Oakes; many nieces and nephews.

He was the best husband, father, grandfather and uncle anyone could wish for. He was a born again Christian and is now at home and at peace with his Lord.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Joseph, Robert John, who was killed at age 21 in the service of his country, and Gerard "Parker" Wall.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in West Falls Baptist Church, Church Street, Falls, by the Rev. Thomas Harmon, pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment, Roberts Cemetery, Falls.
