Joseph Fisne, 86, of Clarks Summit, died Monday morning at Clarks Summit Senior Living Center. His wife was the late Clare A. Patterson Fisne.  The couple had been married more than 60 years. Born in  Scranton, he was the son of the late Simon and Mary Wolfe Fisne.  He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and attended Coyne Electrical Technical School.  Prior to retirement he was employed  as a machinist at Owens Illinois Glass Mfg. in Pittston.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows church and was a 4 th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.   He most especially enjoyed coordinating Religious retreats to St. Alphonsus retreat house in New Jersey.

Joseph also drove School Bus #27 for the Scranton School District.  He loved the kids on his bus and enjoyed the time he got to spend with them. He took great joy in seeing them grow into young adults and cared about them deeply

He was a wonderful family man, a loving husband and father who will be missed by all who knew him.  Joseph was especially skilled in the trades plumbing, carpentry and electrical work and he never hesitated to help a friend in need.   He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his many fishing trips to Poplars in Canada.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Castelletti, Clarks Summit; and Karen Decker and husband, Jim, Gainesville, Va.; two sons, Joseph Fisne and wife, Rosanne, Olyphant; and Richard Fisne and wife, Pamela, Centreville; a sister, Joan Caviston and her husband Donald, Jenkintown, PA; brothers and sisters in law , James Patterson and wife, Patricia, Moscow, Elizabeth Cris and husband, Edward, Temecula, Calif.; Jean Boland, Huntington Beach, Calif; and  Joseph Patterson, Scranton; five grandchildren, Sgt. Sean Fisne and wife, Kat; Brian, Marianne, Kelly and Christopher Fisne; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Fisne; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Fisne; sister in law, Mary Vivian Dwyer; and son-in-law, Richard Castelletti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 am at Church of St. Benedict, Newton-Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
