Jonas C. Quick, Vernon, Fla., formerly of Clarks Summit, died May 20 at Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla., after a brief illness. His wife, the former Shirley Deming Quick, died in 2008.
Born in Lenoxville, son of the late Glenn and Marietta Ruland Quick, he was a corporal in the Army, serving in Germany as well as a radio operator during the Korean War.
Before retirement, he served as the maintenance supervisor for Clarks Summit borough.
Surviving are a son, Bruce, Vernon, Fla.; a daughter, Katherine Nesko and husband, Michael, Clarks Summit; a grandson, Cody Quick; two granddaughters, Jessica and Amy Altieri; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Madison; two brothers, George and wife, Marion, Lake Winola; and Floyd and wife, Gail, Centermoreland.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Glen; and sister, Sarah.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services to be officiated by the Rev. Norman T. Faux. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glendale.
