John J. Smith Jr. of Wilkes-Barre died Sunday afternoon at Little Flower Manor in Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Scranton, son of the late John J. Sr. and Shirley Shiffer Smith, he was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and employed as a union pipefitter with Local 524. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Parsons Lions Club, Polish American Veterans Club and Spectators Sports Club, all in Wilkes-Barre.
Jack enjoyed traveling, food and his family.
Surviving are his very loving companion of more than 18 years, Sheila Kulikowich, Wilkes-Barre; two sons, Ryan and wife, Kerstin, Glenside; and Jason, Jermyn; a grandson, Parker; and a granddaughter, Madison; a brother, Ken Smith, Kennesaw, Ga.; and three sisters, Carol Long, Factoryville; Linda Pushalski, Moosic; and Margiee Reidenbach, Tunkhannock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m., at St. Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, V.G. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
