John Paul Matusewic Jr., 74, of Sea Isle, N.J., and Waverly, died Sunday evening at home in Waverly. He was the husband of Barbara Ann Stanton. The couple had been happily married for 42 years.

Born in Camden, N.J., he was the son of the late John Paul Sr. and Helen Tylo Matusewic. John was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School and went on to serve his country and receive his associate degree in electronics from the Air Force. Before his retirement, he was a director of software engineering at Infotron Systems. John was of Catholic faith.

John loved spending time with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, both at the beach and in Waverly. He enjoyed his Philly sports teams, the stock market and the company of friends.

Also surviving are a daughter, Amy Scoblick and husband, David, Waverly; two sisters, Nancy Smith and Jean Covello, both of Cherry Hill, N.J.; four grandchildren, Anna, Kate, Lily and Amy Grace Scoblick; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by Monsignor Joseph Quinn, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to Traditional Home Hospice, 113 West Drinker St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
