John Albert Hart, 52, of New York City formerly of Dalton , PA ,died Thursday, August 13 unexpectedly at home.

Born in Arlington, VA, he was the son of Maurice and Mary Keenan Hart. He was 1981 graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School and went on to graduate from Dickinson College in 1985 with a triple major in Greek, Latin, and Drama. John was employed as CIO of Custom Staffing Inc. in New York City. During his youth, John was a huge collector of Marvel Comics especially Spiderman. He had a passion for the theater, computers, and different languages throughout his life. During his high school service trip to Mexico with Father Lally, SJ, he drew numerous cartoons on the cafeteria walls of the orphanage that thrilled the young boys. He spent a summer in Ireland where he learned Gaelic and became versed enough to speak the language. John will be missed by his entire family and the many lives he touched.

Surviving are a daughter Sharon Soltysik and husband George, Bath NY; a grandson Levi Soltysik, siblings Mary Ann Diamond and husband John, Pegeen Sheakoski and husband John, Patrick and wife Alissa, Susan Carey and husband Will III, Katie Holzman and husband Aaron, Maura White and husband Charles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 am from the Church of St. Gregory 330 N. Abington Rd. Clarks Green to be celebrated by Rev. John Lapera. Friends are asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive family and friends Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are to be made to Scranton Preparatory School 1000 Wyoming Ave. Scranton, PA 18509 or St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
