John "Jack" M. Cross, 84, of Lake Winola died March 15 at Clarks Summit Senior Living after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 6, 1930 in Dunmore, son of the late H. Milton and Alice Cross, Jack was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris C. Williams.
Jack was a graduate of the Wharton Business School and worked in the field of accounting for Scranton Lace Co, Eureka Specialty Printing and retired from Ingersoll-Rand in 1988. Jack continued working in the accounting field until 2013. A big part of Jack's life was his tireless commitment to his home church as an elder, treasurer, choir member and volunteer on numerous church projects.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joan, son David and wife Kristen of Cave Creek AZ, grand children Justin, Brendon, Adrienne Cross and Heather, Melissa, Dana Borch in addition to four great-grand children.
Visitation will be Saturday March 21, 2015 starting at 9:30 am with a Memorial Service immediately following at 11:00 am at the Dunmore Presbyterian Church, 137 Chestnut Street, Dunmore, PA 18512 with Rev. Kenneth Forbes officiating. Internment will be a private ceremony at the Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunmore Presbyterian Church or The American Cancer Society.
