Joanne Rath Shepherd

Jo Anne Rath Shepherd, 70, of S. Abington Twp. died on Saturday. She was the widow of the late Rev. John P. Shepherd Jr. who died in 2009.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Madeline Pierson Rath. She worked as a nurse until marriage when she became a homemaker, raising her two children. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution and TCI. She enjoyed embroidering, cross stitching, and collecting antiques. Jo Anne traveled all over the country to numerous Thimble conventions. Above all she enjoyed being a loving mother and grandmother.

Also Surviving are a son John, Factoryville, a daughter Bethany and husband Robert McCann, S. Abington Twp., a brother Barry Rath and wife Lucy Masters, Tyler TX,. grandson Robert John McCann, and nephew Hunter Rath.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 pm from the First Presbyterian Church 300 School St, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
