Joanna (Laporta) Hood

JoAnna (Laporta) Hood, 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. JoAnna was born January 6, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, NY to Joseph and Raffaelina Laporta.

She never missed the opportunity to smile, dance, or sing; especially Happy Birthday. Above all else she loved her children, her dog, and coffee... in that order. She was the most loving and loyal mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Survived by her three children, Mary Catherine Hood, Christopher Hood, and Alexandra (Hood) Vicchio; her four siblings Maria Abatecola, Catherine Sorrell, Joseph Laporta, and John Laporta; her mother Raffaelina Laporta and her grandbaby Cassian Vicchio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Therese's Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, by Reverend James Paisley.

A viewing will be held at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit on Sunday from 5 p.m to 7 p.m.
