Joan Jones of Winter Garden, Fla., formerly of Clarks Summit, died Monday after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late David Jones.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Graf Wolsiffer. She was a 1954 graduate of Clarks Summit High School and was of the Presbyterian faith. Prior to retirement, Joan was employed by Prestwood Photo and earlier, had worked at Scranton Lace Co.
Joan was a known for her loving nature and warm personality. She greeted everyone with a smile and was a true friend to her many acquaintances.
Surviving are a brother, David and wife, Pamela Wolsiffer, Clarks Summit; a brother-in-law, Robert and wife, Hang Jones; and a grandson, Scott Hampton, Pittsburgh. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Hampton; a son, Eric Jones; and a brother, Thomas Wolsiffer.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 7 at 11:45 AM at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service.
