Jo Anne Evans Ramsden Matechak of Glenburn died Monday evening at the hospice unit of Mercy Hospital. Her husband is John Matechak. They had been married five years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Keith Ramsden, in 2002.

Jo Anne was born in Dalton, daughter of the late Robert M. and Rose Ann Evans. Before retirement, she was a human resources administrator for GSGS&B Architecture and Engineering. She previously worked with the ICS/Intext as a director of research and testing. She was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School, Keystone Junior College with an associate degree in business administration, Penn State with a bachelor's degree in psychology and Marywood University with a master's degree in education with additional credits towards her MBA.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, where she served as an elder, a 35-year adult choir member, and as a chairwoman for the staff support committee and finance committee.

She had a love for nature, especially hiking in the woods and mountains. She enjoyed music, art, traveling to beautiful places, summers at Lake Winola, playing bridge and especially spending time with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank Jack, Dr. Lisa Thomas, the nurses and caregivers at Mercy Hospice as well as her many dear friends for their loving care and compassion.

Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Ramsden and wife, Amy, Nashville, Tenn.; and Todd Ramsden and wife, Margo, Denver; four grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Tate and Elise Ramsden; a brother, Robert Evans and wife, Joretta, Bella Vista, Ark.; three stepsons, Gregory Matechak and wife, Annise, and their family, Marietta, Ga.; Jason Matechak and wife, Errin and their family, Arlington, Va.; and J. Michael Matechak and wife, Kelly, and family, South Riding, Va.; eight stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. William Carter, pastor. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.
