Jesse Micah Smith, 33, of Waverly, slipped into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus on Monday October 28th 2013 after a courageous battle with heart disease.
Born in Scranton he was the son of Kay Rosencrance .
Jesse was a 2000 graduate of Abington Heights High School. Prior to his illness, Jesse was a passionate auto mechanic. Never afraid of taking on a challenging task, he loved seeing a good job well done. He loved being able to help other people. And he was always sure to put his heart into everything he touched. Jesse was a sweet kind compassionate young man. He was also an avid fisherman. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending the day fishing. Jesse was also a very gifted artist. He had a passion for nature and loved all of his pets dearly.
Jesse's gentle smile and tender heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was our gentle giant. His mom's sugar bear.
Also surviving is a brother James Smith and companion Tara, a sister Sarah Rixford and husband Mike, nephews Caleb and Xavier, an aunt Susan Cupinski , a cousin Danielle Cupinski, and his girlfriend Jenny Harding and her daughter Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert J. and Lois Mae Rosencrance, and his cousin Jason Cupinski.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10am from the Waverly Methodist Church, 103 Church St. Waverly Pa, with services by Rev. Brent Stouffer, pastor of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton.
