Jerome M. McShaffery, formerly of Moscow, died March 8 in Asheville, N.C., where he had resided for the past two years.
Born in Scranton on March 2, 1953, he was the son of the late John A. and Etta Doherty Mcshaffery. He attended the North Pocono schools and served our country as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. Jerry worked numerous jobs throughout his life, but most enjoyed his time spent working for the Environmental Services Department at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.
Jerry was happiest when he was outdoors, and loved to spend time hunting, fishing and hiking. He was a talented musician, and his singing voice was a gift from God. He could play any instrument he picked up, but most enjoyed playing his guitar. Jerry's laugh and his smile were contagious and his kindness was unrivaled. He loved his family more than anything in the world.
