Jean (Gerina) Merollini McMahon, Peckville, died in the company of her family on Friday at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Henry A. McMahon, who died in 1997. They had been married for 57 years at the time of his death.

Born in Gubbio, Italy, on Feb. 3, 1922, daughter of the late Alfredo and Olga Mascelli Merollini, she was a 1939 graduate of Blakely High School and attended the University of Alabama. She was a devoted homemaker and a co-founder/co-owner of the Bellemount Golf Range and Miniature Golf Course and the Owls' Roost. She was a stylish dresser and loving mother, who excelled at cooking and golf. She also loved to travel with her husband and family. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and its Holy Rosary Society, the Church of Epiphany, Glenburn, and the Country Club of Scranton.

She is survived by her children, Gerina (Jean Ann) Gaffney and husband, Joe; Carol Gorczyk and Patrick McMahon and wife, Kristie; and by her grandchildren, Sandy Gorczyk Lemoncelli, Bill Gorczyk, Christopher Gaffney, Kyle Gaffney, Megan Gaffney Dristilaris, Ian McMahon, Adam McMahon and Kathleen McMahon; and by nine great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ada and husband, Don Erat; and their children, David Erat and wife, Victoria; and Donna Erat and wife, Jen Barnes Erat.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Aldo Merollini and wife, Mary Ann, Rockville, Md.

The funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 25 Church Hill Road, Glenburn. Visitation hours, Friday, Nov. 20, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Lawrence Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, and on Saturday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. at Church of the Epiphany.
