Jean Maas, 90, of Ransom Twp., died Friday morning at the Jewish Home in Scranton. She was the wife of the late David "Wayne" Maas, who died in February of this past year.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Greame Anderson. She attended Clarks Summit Schools. Jean devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a member of the former Milwaukee United Methodist Church, presently the Countryside Community Church.
Jean enjoyed sewing and baking pies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Oakwood Terrace and the Jewish Home for their wonderful care and compassion they gave to jean during her illness.
Surviving are a son Ronald Maas and wife, Beverly, Falls; two daughters Barbara Allen and husband, Anthony, Moosic; and Gail Yasinskas and husband, Edward, Clarks Summit; nine grandchildren, David Maas, Julie Delasandro and husband, Andrew; Michael Maas and wife, Ashley; Ronald Maas and wife, Kristy; Bryan Allen and wife, Mary Beth; Kelly Rushefski and husband, John; Christine Day and husband, Thomas; Joseph Yasinskas and wife, Jennifer; and Jason Yasinskas; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers Wallace, Donald, Joseph, Robert, and Kent Anderson, and a sister Ruth Yarns.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 7 pm from the Lawrence E. Young and Cremation Service Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Milwaukee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4pm until time of service at the funeral home.
