Januarius G. Bryer, Fleetville, died Tuesday evening at the Hospice Unit in Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Joan Marie Russin, the couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last September 12th.

Born in Jessup, son of the late Matthew and Anna Wassel Bryer. He has been a resident of the Fleetville area for the past 48 years. Prior to retirement he was an Installer for Western electric for 19 years. He was a member of the Church of St Gregory, Clarks Green.

He was an Army Veteran and during his term he was assigned to Army Security in Korea and Japan. He stated many times how proud and honored he was to have the privelege of serving his country.

Affectionately known as Jim and Grand-dad, he enjoyed gardening, growing flowers in his greenhouse, and spending time with his granddaughters, Rebecca and Holly. He was a loving husband, father, grand-dad, and father in law.

Surviving are a daughter, Ruth B. Seamans, and her husband, Jeffrey, Factoryville; a son, David Bryer, and his wife Lisa, Fruitland, MD; two granddaughters, Rebecca Seamans and Holly Bryer and a great granddaughter, Isabelle Marie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel, brothers, Matthew, Thomas, Joseph and Stephen; sisters, Pauline McDonnell, Marcelle Lebida and Anne Volcan.

A funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. With Mass of Christian Burial at 10am from the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd. Clarks Green. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Jessup

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Renovation Fund at the Church of St. Gregory
