Janice H. Ranlet, 85, died Monday, December 9 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was married Dec. 27, 1947, to Daniel H. Ranlet.
Born March 22, 1928, in Camden, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Horace B. Hand and Edna Mae Moyer. She attended Jersey City, N.J., schools, and was an alumna of Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt.
Before coming to Dalton in 1976, Janice lived in Metuchen and Plainfield, N.J., North Palm Beach, Fla., Lancaster, Pa., Marion, Ind. and Anagni, Italy.
Janice was an artist and musician; organist-choir director at the Grace Episcopal Church, West Palm Beach, and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. She was active on the Altar Guild and as a lay reader in Church of the Epiphany, Glenburn.
Surviving are three sons, James D., Apex, N.C.; Kenneth B., Syracuse, N.Y.; and Richard W., North Kingstown, R.I.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dr. Bryce M. Hand, Syracuse, N.Y.
A Celebration of the Life of Janice H. Ranlet, who died, December 9, has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Church of the Epiphany, Glenburn Twp. At 11 AM. The service will be led by Fr. F.Graham Cliff, assisted by Rev. MaryLou Divis.
Friends are invited to share a luncheon in Epiphany's Parish Hall following the service.
