Janice (Jannie) Audrie Antoine, 82, of Fleetville passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 surrounded by family in Pittsburgh, PA. She was united in marriage 65 years to her devoted and loving husband, David.
Born on Feb. 7, 1935, in Lenoxville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Rood and late Madeline Strickland. Her humble beginnings, her love for family, and her nurturing heart were always present in the unconditional love she gave to all she encountered throughout generations.
She loved entertaining, family gatherings, tending to her flowers, and her beloved dog Dusty.
In search of her Irish heritage, Jan and Dave made several trips to Ireland and spent time in Florida and Hawaii.
The years of joy and laughter we shared with her will live in our hearts forever.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Janice is survived by her 5 children; sons David Antoine (Friend, Sharon), Ray Antoine (Donna), and daughters Cindy Miller (Fiancé, Ian), Sandy Dixon (Brad), and Sherri Cuda (Victor).
14 Grandchildren: David III (Christine), Ray, Jr.(Karen), Jessica, Michelle, Monica, Walter III, Mason (Becky), Alicia, Jenna, April(Chad), Joshua, Margaux, Dominic, and Riley.
21 Great-Grandchildren: Taylor, Corina, Madeline, Kaitlin, Isaiah, Olivia, Malena, Masey, Ava, Zeke, Koston, Mitchell, Emiline, Breeze, Ellianna, Caiden, Titus, Max, Cooper, Levi, and Greyson.
Siblings: Irene Harding (Dick), Nellie Stanton (Donald), Donald Rood (Rachael), and Frank Rood (Linda) .
She was also preceded in death by siblings Herbert, Donna, Linda, and Lynn and great-grandson Caleb.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 with a calling hour at 10:00 until time of service at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home& Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
