Janet A.Nelson 83,of Nicholson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday 28 April 2017. Surrounded by her loving family and companion along with special friend Mary Ann Brennan.
Born in S. Edmeston, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Albert W. and Pauline M. Kenner Nelson.
Janet had a special fondness for animals and her wild birds which she "spoiled" with seed and suet year round. On the day of her passing, the cardinals sang loudly and sweetly outside her bedroom window.
She was the best Mom, Grandma and " Gigi" to her family and will be missed, holding a special place in their hearts forever.
Prior to retirement she was a waitress for Dino and Francesco's Restaurant. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tunkhannock.
Surviving are her long time companion Henry Schuster, Nicholson, a son Stephen K Truscott and wife Kim, Factoryville, daughter Paula Ransom and husband Richard, Springville, brother Robert Nelson, Scranton. Grandchildren James Sprague Jr, Dalton, Michael Sprague and wife Kristy, Lathrop Twp., Kristina Sprague VanVleck, Springville, Dustin Truscott and wife Erika, Fla., Shalyn Truscott, Factoryville. Annmarie Ciccarelli, Springville. Great grandchildren, Logan Sprague, Lathrop Twp., Kyle and Katelyn Mulligan, and Izabel Janet VanVleck , Springville, Kaidon and Raycen Truscott, Fla. Noah, Liam and Jaycen Truscott, Factoryville. several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Richard W. Nelson and half brother Robert Kenner, grandsons in law Raymond Mulligan Jr. and Shane T. VanVleck.
A funeral service will be held Tues. at 7 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa 18411 with prayer service by Mary Ann Brennan chaplain. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m.until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made be made to American Lung Assoc, , St. Jude's Children's Hospital, local animal shelters or charity of your choice.
