Janet M. Kerner, 58, Lake Winola, died Monday at the Tyler Memorial Hospital in
Tunkhannock.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Sanford and Helen Hensley Vanderverken. She was a
life long resident of Overfield Township and a member of the St. Marys of the Lake
Catholic Church, Lake Winola.
Surviving are a daughter, Eileen Whitney, Scranton; three brothers, Robert, Carmen, and
Sanford all of Lake winola; a sister, Joan Watkins, Lowville, NY; three grandchildren,
Heather, Amanda, and Alyssa.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Vandervecken and a brother, Anthony.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 10am from St. Mary?s of the Lake Catholic
Church, Lake Winola with services by Fr. Rick Palmiter. Interment will be in Fairview
Cemetery in Mill City.
Arrangements by Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
