Jane Whittaker Oconnor

Jane J. Whittaker OConnor, Waverly, died Thursday evening in her home surrounded by family.

Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances Holzenthaler Whittaker. She was a woman of Catholic faith who attended both St. Gregory's Parish and Our Lady of the Snows Church. Prior to her retirement at the age of 83, she was the secretary for the family interior design business. She adored cooking and baking, but the true joy and love of her life was spending time with her family.

Jane is survived by her brother Francis Whittaker, with whom she resided in Waverly; two sons Joseph O'Connor, his wife Maryella, Scranton, and Sean O'Connor, his wife Dorothy, Waverly; and eight grandchildren Jacqueline Trama, Kaitlyn Karzenoski, Theresa, Sarah, Christopher, Marie, Sean and Elizabeth OConnor

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9:30am in the The Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Rd., Clarks Green PA. Interment will be private in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Dunmore. All those attending mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
