James R. Saxe, Newton Twp., died Monday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing in Scranton. His wife, Dorothy Smith Saxe, died in 1998.
Born in Newton Twp., son of the late Harry and Blanche Dornblazer Saxe, he dedicated his entire life working on the family farm, where he was born and raised. He was a member of the Countryside Community Church in Newton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Skilled nursing for their wonderful care and compassion that was given to Jim while he was in their care.
Surviving are a sister, Kathryn Davis, Clarks Summit; a sister-in-law, Betty Mears; a brother-in-law, Robert Smith; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held Friday at noon from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.
