James A. Rowlands, of Dalton, died Friday.
Born Jan. 31, 1939, in Scranton, son of the late William H. and Marion Reed Rowlands, he was a longtime resident of North Abington Township and was a self-employed electrical contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abington and was active with the Wyoming County Historical Society.
Surviving are a son, James A. Rowlands Jr., Factoryville; two brothers, Bert Rowlands, East Stroudsburg; and Richard Rowlands, Springfield; a sister, Ruth Brian, Laramie, Wyo.; a sister-in-law, Marrie Rowlands; nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan.
Weather permitting, an informal memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the pond on his property. Rain location, First Baptist Church of Abington, Main Street and Carbondale Road, Waverly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements, Lawrence E.
