James McAllister, 70, of Lenoxville, died Tuesday afternoon at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. He was the husband of the former Mary Wagner.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late James McAllister and the late Gerald and Edna Blickens Coggins, he was employed as a driver for Tuzze Trucking for more than 40 years. He was a resident of Lenoxville for 17 years and before that lived in Carbondale. He was a member of the Carbondale United Methodist Church.
James was a loving husband and wonderful father who had a great love for animals. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are two sons, Carl and wife, Constance, Finch Hill; and John, Lenoxville; a daughter, Deborah Cieszkowski and husband, Joseph, Carbondale; three brothers, George, Schenectady, N.Y.; Lewis, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Gaylord, New Jersey; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.
