James P. Hill

James Hill died in his home in Clarks Summit, where he lived for over 60 years, on October 29 th he was 86 years old.  His wife was the late Elva Lou Glass Hill.

He grew up in Scranton and graduated from Central High School where he played baseball and was active in the student drama group as an actor and singer.  He went on to Keystone College where he was also active in the drama group before graduating.   He was an accomplished pianist and could play any song by just hearing a few bars of the music.  During his high school and college days he played in a number of local bands.

He was a proud veteran who served in the US Army in Fort Knox, KY and in Germany.

He worked at the Scranton Lace Company where he started in an entry level position and worked his way up to become president of the company, a position he served in for many years.  He later worked as a consultant for other companies in the industry.   He is survived by his niece Margaret (Peggy) Zosulis of Richboro, PA and his Nephew James (Terry) Kelley of Marlton, NJ.

Services will be Tuesday, November 7 at 11 am from the Lawrence E Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.  He will be laid to rest in Stroudsburg  Cemetery in Stroudsburg next to his wife Elva who passed in 2006.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
