James H. Glynn, Scranton formerly of Clarks Green died Monday at the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit. He was the widower of Mary Baker Glynn who died July 19, 1987
Born in Honesdale, son of the late John and Madeline Theobald Glynn. Prior to retirement he was employed with Our Lady of the Peace School in the maintenance department. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church and the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069. He was a former member of the Clarks Summit Volunteer Fire Co.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather as well as a New York Giant and Yankee Fan.
Surviving are two sons, James Jr. and his wife Linda, Clarks Summit Patrick and his wife Betty, Archbald; three daughters, Mary Jerauld, Scranton, Theresa Sheerin and her husband Michael, Jerymn and Tina Glynn, Scranton; four brothers, John and his wife Charlotte, Factoryville, Joseph and his wife Carol, Montana, Thomas and his wife Janet, New York, and Rev. Edward Glynn, Maryland; three sisters, Peggy Uablonski, Clarks Summit, Mary Aulisio, Kingston and Ann McHale, Wyoming; grandchildren, Tracey and Brian Duffy, Keith and Kathy Gerauld, Carly and Warren Glynn, Michael and Christopher Sheerin; great grandchild, Tristan Krape; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Graham.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10am from Our Lady of the Snows Church, S. State St., Clarks Summit with services Msgr. John Louis and his brother, Rev. Edward Glynn. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
