Staff Sergeant (Ret.) James Calder, 51 entered into his eternal rest Sunday January 29, 2012 at Community Medical Center. He was the son of the late William F. and Mary E. Calder.

Born September 28, 1960, in Lawrence, Mass., he was educated in Massachusetts and New Hampshire schools until moving to Pennsylvania in 1979. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School class of 1980. Upon graduation, Jim joined the Air Force as an airplane mechanic, serving in Michigan, New York, and Germany until his retirement in 1992.

An excellent mechanic there wasn't an engine he couldn't fix. He loved the beach, any Air Force jet, Nascar, and the New England Patriots. His favorite saying was, "It's Complicated."

Surviving are his children, Sean Richards, Marmora, NJ; Matthew Calder and wife Tuesday, Guyton, GA; and Sara. Brothers; William and wife Mary, Auburn, NH; Douglas and Teresa, Scranton; David and best friend Dave Morgan, Factoryville. A sister Deborah Jakubos and husband Joseph, Factoryville as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; including Jamie Cooper with whom he resided.

He was preceded in death by a brother Stephen. Jim will be deeply missed, especially by his sister who loved him dearly.

The funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
