James L. Ankiewicz of Benton Twp. died Saturday at home.
Born in Fleetville, son of the late Leo and Frances Karp Ankiewicz, he was a veteran of the Marine Corps and was a member of the Corps' drum and bugle corps.
He was a self-employed contractor, a former member and past president of the Fleetville Fire Com-pany and the former mayor of Marshbrook and Fleetville.
James was also well-traveled, having lived in Hawaii, California and Japan.
Surviving are three sons James, Factoryville; Todd, Harveys Lake; and Aaron, Factoryville; two brothers, Edward, Hometown; and David, Fleetville; two sisters, Betty Fagan, Fitchburg, Mass.; and Leona Dobrinski and husband, George, Lake Winola; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Ankiewicz.
A celebration of James's life will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
Friends may call Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
