Jacqueline Dolores Ralph Carlitz, "Jackie", 68, passed away on December 7th, 2013. Her husband of 47 years, Alan S. Carlitz, was by her side.
Born in Philadelphia on September 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Rita Razzi Ralph.
She spent the first 5 and best years of her life residing with her grandmother and grandfather, the late Elizabeth Dolores and John Ingram.
Jackie honored her family by marrying in the traditional Jewish faith, under a chuppah on November 26, 1966. Two doves were released as the bride and groom made their grand entrance as "husband and wife".
Jackie was a full time homemaker, mother, wife, grandmother, party planner, chauffeur, mentor and friend. She proudly and unselfishly devoted her entire life to her family, a role she will continue to play.
Jackie and her family moved to Clarks Summit in 2005 to be closer to her daughter, Dr. Stacey J. Carlitz, who joined the staff at CMC as an obstetrician/gynecologist. Jackie spent the last 5 years battling diabetes related sequelae. She resided at Mountain View Care Center where she was affectionately and unanimously nicknamed the " Mayor". Jackie took a sincere interest in getting to know the many nurses and aides that cared for her. She became part of their family.
The Carlitz family would like to thank the Mountain View Care Center staff for their compassion, commitment and care in making her final years and transition peaceful and loving.
Jackie loved dogs, especially Scotties and Cocker Spaniels. MacGregor was her first Scottie followed by AKC Champion "Corey" Brookhill Courier who won Best In Show in Long Island, NY, and many more before retiring. Baron was her last Scottie and her 1st grandson Chester, a red cocker, whom she co-raised as her oldest attended medical school in Philadelphia.
Her love of music and the arts was infectious. Singing and dancing was always a part of life in the Carlitz household.
Jackie is survived by her husband Alan; two daughters, Dr. Stacey J. Carlitz and Allison Carlitz Moyer and her husband Anthony; and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Dara Brooke, Justin Brett and Alyssa Paige.
Jackie was the 'keystone' of her family. She completely devoted her life to her husband and two daughters. She never tired, never waivered in her wanting the absolute best life for her family. As our Mom would say, countless times, "When God closes one door, he open another."
We love you mom. Never goodbye….. but, "See you soon".
Private family services were entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., Clarks Summit. To send private condolences, memories, or special messages to the Carlitz family at dr-stacey@hotmail.com.
