Iona Jacoby Roberts

Iona Jacoby Roberts, 98, of Milford, CT, died Tuesday morning at her home. Her husband was the late Ivan L. Roberts who died in 1994. The couple had been married for 52 years.

Born in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Martha Rosenkrans Jacoby. Iona resided in Connecticut most of her life and prior to retirement she was employed by General Electric and as a salesperson for W.T. Grant Co.

She was a wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania, and a great friend to her extended family in Connecticut. She enjoyed celebrating all holidays and loved making them special for her family. Iona always loved flowers and took great pride in her beautiful flower garden.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, Dr. Fred W. Summerhill, Howard Jacoby and his wife Jean, Ivan Jacoby and his wife Chris, Linda Smith and her husband Warren, Brenda Pardue and her husband John, Debra Kovall, Iona May Hice and her husband John, and Sandra Jacoby, all of PA; 22 great nieces and nephews; 32 great great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her extended family in CT, Genevieve Charchenko and her granddaughter Vanessa Dearborn which whom Iona resided; Donna and Marcin Wolniakowski, Terry and Tommy Adamo, Barbara and Mike Brennan and their children.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law. Corrine and Fred Summerhill; a brother and sister in law, Howard and Dorothy Jacoby; a niece in law, Ann Summerhill; a nephew in law, Tom Kovall, and a great nephew, Thomas Kovall.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 2 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA, with services by Rev. Brent Stouffer, pastor, Clarks Green United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday from 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home.
