Howard E. Detty, 98, of Scott Twp., died Saturday afternoon at the VNA Hospice unit at Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born in Scott Twp., he was the son of the late Eugene and Julia Govner Detty. Before retirement, he was a self-employed contractor, building many custom homes, and was also a part-time school bus driver.
Surviving is a dear friend, Shirley VonStorch, Scott Twp. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Merle; and a sister-in-law, Hilda.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Donald Hasselman, pastor of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Mount Bethel Cemetery, Scott Twp.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 4 until time of service.
