Howard E. Conrad, Sr., Clarks Green, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. His wife of 68 years is Barbara (Atherton) Conrad. The couple was married November 15, 1952. Howard joyfully celebrated his 90th birthday with his family on July 17,
2021.
Born in Scranton, son of Arthur Lucas Conrad and Margaret (Williams) Conrad, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Keystone Jr. College. Before retirement, he spent many years as a salesman in the printing industry, locally with Eureka Printing / Litton Industries and later with Fleming Potter of Peoria, IL. He completed his sales career as an agent with Lavelle Real Estate.
Howard enjoyed skiing and was an avid tennis player, spending many happy hours at the Scranton Tennis Club. He loved pipe organ music, Packards, Porsches and Mexican food. He was a unique individual who connected with people at a very personal level.
His passion in life was his family. Howard is survived by his sons, Howard Jr., and wife Ann, South Abington Township, PA, Mark and wife Tami, Hobe Sound, FL, Eric and wife Jennifer, Dillsburg, PA and daughter Linda, Clarks Summit, PA. Also surviving are a brother Arthur L. (Bep) Conrad, Jr and wife Phyllis, Chambersburg, PA and sisters, Joan (Connie) Drouin, Yarmouth, ME, and Clara Jean (Susie) Hill, Centerville, OH.
He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by: Kevin Conrad and wife Sonya and their sons James and Liam, Allentown, PA; Kate Christein and husband Justin and their son Oliver, Allentown, PA; Michael Conrad and wife Indiana and their sons Noah and Enzo,
Hertford, NC; Shelby Eve and husband Trevor and their children Carson and Emerson, Palm City, FL; Ethan Conrad, Austin, TX; Andrew Conrad, Dillsburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Conrad.
No calling hours or memorial service are immediately planned. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly, PA, at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Howard's life will be held at a future date.
