Howard Burghardt, 95, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday morning at the Jewish Home in Scranton. He was the husband of the late Ruth Grieshaber who died in 1996.
Born in Brooklyn NY, son of the late Charles and Ella Curran Burghardt. Prior to retiring in 1977, he was a service manager for Royal Typewriter Co.
For 41 years. He resided in Dingmans Ferry PA. for nineteen years, where he was a member of the Berchwood Lakes Garden Club, Delaware Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. and the Milford Golden Age Club. He was also a member of ST. Vincent's Church.
Surviving are two sons Howard Jr., Long Island NY; and Frederick, Patchoque NY. Eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Ruth Kay Hoffman.
The mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9 from the Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St. Clarks Summit. Interment Clarks Green Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5pm to 8pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, Pa. 18411.
