Hilda Lewis

Hilda Lewis, Dalton, died Monday afternoon at Allied Services in Scranton. She was the widow of Merle A. Lewis, who died in 2019. The couple had been married since 1951.

Born in Madisonville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Emma Pagles Frey. She was a member of the Oriental Grange in Tunkhannock, the PA Farm Bureau and Dairy Lea, and the Pennsylvania State Extension. She also served as a 4H Leader for over 50 years.

Surviving are daughters Debra Moran of Duryea, Ann Northup of Dalton, and Patty Jeffrey of Springbrook; grandchildren Chad, Tami, Tanya, Randy, and Merle; seven great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Frey of Moscow.

She was preceded in death by son Robert Lewis, daughter Mary Lewis, grandson Colin Bordelton, and brothers Karl Frey and David Frey.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
