Henry John Camin Sr., 97, of Chinchilla, died Friday Morning at Capital Care Adler Center Hospice in Aldie, Virginia following a stroke. He and his wife, Rae, have been married for 71 years.
Born in Piper, Kansas, he was the son of the late Rev. Henry E. and Helen Camin. He was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and served his country as an Army Sergeant in the Pacific during World War II. Returning from the war Henry founded and operated Camin's poultry farm in Chinchilla. He later managed Springville Poultry Farm for Garden State Farms and was a claims adjuster at Eastern Claims Service prior to retirement. He was a previous Supervisor of South Abington Township and a member of the Montrose Rotary. He was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, where his father was a long time pastor.
Surviving are two sisters, Marjorie Fisk, Kissimmee, Florida and Evelyn Pirson, Orchard Park, New York; two sons, Henry Camin Jr. and wife, Janice, Post Falls, Idaho and Robert Camin and wife, Rhoda, Reston, Virginia; two grandchildren, Henry John Camin III Phd, State College, Pa and Michael Camin and wife Amanda, Moscow, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth and Lillian; several nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Gagern and Ruth Rogal
A celebration of life and internment at Abington Hills Cemetery will be planned at a later date.
