Helvecia Amelia Jaramillo

Amelia passed away one sad day in May 2021.  She fought till the end but left this world too soon.

We can call Amelia, God's little scholar. Amelia was a retired Physician, Teacher and a Registered Nurse.  In our hearts we know she is dancing in heaven with her father Jorge Escalante, whom she adored.  Amelia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

She leaves behind a loving mother, husband, 3 children and 4 wonderful grandchildren (that she helped raise), sisters, brother, nieces and nephews.

Amelia's last jobs were at nursing homes, where she cared for and gave comfort and quality of life to her nursing home family. She made many wonderful friends in the process. Amelia loved to travel, especially Cancun Mexico and to dance when she wasn't working.

She is survived by her 100 year young mother Rosa Escalante; her wonderful husband of many years Robert Clodoveo Jaramillo; her children Kathy Jaramillo Platt, Roberto Christian Jaramillo, and Alfonso Eduardo Jaramillo; her grandchildren who miss her dearly, Calvin Asher Platt, Christian William Jaramillo, Alfonso David Jaramillo Jr., and Camilla Faith Jaramillo; also her loving sisters and brother, Mary Ramirez, Elizabeth Escalante, Enma Yarleque, and Jorge Escalante; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 27 ^th at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church (301 South State Street, Clarks Summit, PA  18411) by Rev. Stephen Asomah, assistant pastor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
