Helen Johnson Pfisterer, 91, of South Abington Township, died Tuesday morning at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton.   She left this life as gently as she lived it.  She was preceded in death by her former husband, Kenneth Davies, and her second husband Robert Pfisterer.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Tressa Snyder Johnson.  Helen was a 1946 graduate of Scott High School, earned her secondary degree from Lackawanna Business School, and was employed as a Secretary at Sandvik Steel

She enjoyed volunteering with the Justus Ladies Auxiliary, at the hospital while she lived in South Boston, Virginia, and in her beloved Mt. Bethel Church in Justus, where she served as a Secretary, Treasurer, and was a member of the choir.

She is survived by daughter Cynthia Davies Caffall and her husband Grayling of South Abington Township; stepdaughters Patricia Bein and her husband David of Massachusetts, Nancy Manzella and her husband Mike of New York, and Robin Mahoney and her husband Neil of Maine; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Russell Johnson.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 12 th at 11 a.m. from Mt. Bethel Church, 1341 Layton Road, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Donald Hasselman.  Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to go to the Chinchilla Fire Company, 113 Shady Lane Rd., Chinchilla, PA  18410.
