Helen Norton, 104, Dalton, died Saturday morning at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Willard Norton who died on Dec. 13, 2004.

Born in Dalton, daughter of the late Walter E. and Grace Bell Von Storch Lisk, she was a graduate of Dalton High School, and devoted her life as a caregiver to her family and neighbors. Helen was considered the best mom ever, not only by her family but by all that knew her.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Glenburn.

Helen enjoyed life, especially knitting, sewing and baking, and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Surviving are a son, Robert E. Norton, West Haven, Conn.; a daughter, Barbara Jennings and her husband, Alan, Dalton; three grandsons, Buck Jennings, Dalton; Benjamin Norton, North Beach, Md.; and Stephen Norton, Milford, Conn.; a granddaughter, Christine Norton, Derby, Conn.; two great-grandchildren, Charlie P. Norton, Milford; and Ethan Norton, North Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Lisk and Roger Lisk; and two sisters, Margaret Peg Murphy and Evelyn Goodwin.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Ben Rust, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, Glenburn. Interment will follow in Shoemaker Cemetery, Dalton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
